Best Popular Classical Album …AND THE WINNER IS!

The award for the Best Popular Classical Album at the 2010 MTN SA Music Awards went to Daniel Rowland & the Stellenbosch University Camerata with their CD of Seasons by Vivaldi and Piazzolla. This album was recorded by Twopianists Records. The award was made at a ceremony in Sun City on Saturday night 17 April.

Twopianists Records, the brainchild of two pianists, Luis Magalhães and Nina Schumann both resident in Stellenbosch, received two nominations for Best Popular Classical Album at the MTN SA Music Awards. The other to have been nominated was an album of works for two pianos inspired by the music of Paganini played by Magalhães and Schumann themselves.

Other Classical nominations included albums by well-loved guitarist, James Gracefor Music of Spain II, Sterling EQ for Quartet Nova and the SA Youth Choir for Birth of
