Handel’s oratorio ‘Jephtha’ – a first for Cape Town

Barry Smith with the St Georges singers and Tinta Barocca under leadership of Quentin Crida invites you to a the first performance in Cape Town of Handel’s last oratorio to be staged at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (corner Buitengracht and Somerset Road) on 20th and 21st August at 7.30 p.m.

This will be a musical highlight of the year with young South African international stars some making their Cape Town debut:

Colin Lee, Erica Eloff, Christopher Ainslie, Sophie Harmsen, Elsa Klopper and Aubrey Lodewyk, the St George’s Singers and the Camerata Tinta Barocca (leader Quentin Crida) conducted by Barry Smith.

There is a pre-concert talk by Cambridge university Handel expert Dr Ruth Smith at 6.45 p.m Booking at Computicket opens on 30th July – R200, R150 and R80.
