Strings Department Hugo Lambrechts with Louis van der Watt

I had the pleasure of attending the first day of a Violin Workshop presented by Louis van der Watt at the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre.  It was absolutely inspiring to be surrounded by String teachers all passionate about their vocation.  The workshop started with a presentation on the Psychology of  the child and beginners music lessons.  The “Suziki triangle” and aptitude test was amongst other controversial topics discussed.  All who attended had very valuable contributions and Louis van der Watt facilitated a very inspiring and productive morning.

The feeling of “comeradery” was overwhelming in an occupation which often leaves one isolated.  The Hugo Lambrechts String Department needs to be congratulated on this wonderful initiative and with the very professional way in which the course was presented.  If you still want to be part of this workshop, it is not too late!  Two more sessions run tomorrow (20 January) and Friday (21 January) from 9:30 to 13:00.

Please contact the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre for more information.
